A Heartfelt Tribute: Why Every Senior or Terminally ill Dog Deserves a Tails to Remember Session

Hi Paul, our baby boxer Jada (8years young today) was diagnosed with t-cell lymphoma August last year and had sadly fallen out of remission before the end of her chemotherapy, and so were heading into palliative treatment. We adopted Jada nearly 4 years ago, she fitted into our family like she was always meant to be ours, she’s given us more love and support in her time with us than I can express, I honestly don’t know how we got so lucky having her in our lives, there for cuddles through times of grief and the everyday chaos of raising a family, making us laugh with her silly bouncy boxer antics and I would really love to have some professional shots of her for us to treasure forever. - Kim

Dogs are more than just pets—they are loyal companions, trusted confidants, and beloved family members. Their presence fills our lives with joy, and their unwavering love leaves a lasting impact on our hearts. As they grow older, every moment becomes more precious, making it all the more important to capture the essence of their spirit and the bond you share.

Celebrating a Lifetime of Love

Senior dogs carry a lifetime of memories in their gentle eyes. From puppyhood adventures to quiet moments by your side, they have been there through every chapter of your life. A dedicated photography session for your ageing or terminally ill dog is not just about capturing their image—it’s about preserving their legacy. It’s a way to celebrate their unique personality, quirks, and the deep connection you’ve built over the years.

The Importance of Lasting Memories

As time passes, memories fade, but photographs remain. A thoughtfully captured image allows you to hold onto the little details—the softness of their fur, the sparkle in their eyes, the way they lean against you for comfort. These images become a tangible reminder of their love, offering solace and warmth long after they are gone.

Creating a Calm and Comfortable Experience

Older dogs may have mobility challenges, anxiety, or health concerns, which is why it’s essential to create a session that is relaxed and stress-free. Familiar outdoor spaces or the comfort of home provide the perfect backdrop, allowing them to feel at ease. Gentle pacing, patience, and understanding ensure that their well-being is the top priority.

A Tribute That Lasts a Lifetime

While the thought of saying goodbye is never easy, having a beautiful keepsake can be a source of comfort. A single photograph has the power to bring back a thousand memories—a reminder of the bond you shared and the unconditional love they gave so freely.

Every dog deserves to be honoured, celebrated, and remembered. Taking the time to capture their essence is a heartfelt tribute to the love and joy they brought into your life.
