Senior Dog photography Brisbane

In Feb 2024 i put together a special series for senior dogs in The Gap Brisbane that would show case the stories of our old and dear friends. Little did I know it would be a great success and impact in a good way with the dogs owners. A couple of the dogs have since passed and the owners are so grateful they capture the spirit and story of their beloved pet.

Charlie is a Poochon ( Poodle x Bichon Frise)

So back in 2006 a friend of mine bought a dog for her family but sadly after 3 months they decided Charlie wasn’t the dog for

them. They offered us Charlie as the kids and I loved Charlie as having baby sat him previously. So he became part of our family along with our 2 cats.

Amazingly here we are in 2024 and Charlie is still with us. Who’d have thought we would be celebrating his 18th Birthday in January. He has brought us so much joy and happiness during those years and we’ve often said he has been the perfect dog for us and we just can’t imagine life without him.

Charlie is a Poochon ( Poodle x Bichon Frise). Not ever having had a dog before I have always been amazed at how clever and resourceful he is. He has always been in good health over the years and even now his blood tests come back with no major problems. Being a senior dog though he is now deaf and his eyesight is failing him. He has monthly visits to Dr Renae for injections to assist his mobility which have worked wonders. So he gets daily walks albeit slow walks which include alot of sniffing. He gets carried up the hill to home so as to not overexert himself. He gets 3 meals a day these days and sleeps alot! He can still navigate the house really well and can still let us no when he needs to go outside as he can’t do stairs.

To sum it up he is a very spoilt boy and deserves to be at the ripe old age of 18.:-)
